Florence B. Carroll, 113, a longtime resident of Amenia, NY recently of Salisbury, CT passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT. Mrs. Carroll was the oldest living resident in the State of Connecticut.

Born on June 9, 1907 in Millerton, NY she was the daughter of the late Emilo and Mary (McCann) Brunese. Mrs. Carroll was a graduate of Millerton High School class of 1925. On February 9, 1930 at Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, NY, she married John J. Carroll who predeceased her on January 27, 1989.

Mrs. Carroll worked as a private cook for AB Hall in Lakeville, CT. She was also a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, NY.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by a two son, John Carroll and Philip Carroll both of Amenia, NY and a daughter, Jean Leggett of Dover Plains. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carroll is predeceased by five sons, Joseph, Richard, Thomas, William and Alan Carroll; a daughter, Marion Ursula Robertson; three brothers, William, Emil and John Brunese and five sisters, Agnes Donne, Margaret Loomis, Magdalene Brunese, Cecilia Pawelchak and Gertrude Loretta Dennis.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY with Rev. R. Kent Wilson officiating.
