Albany man arrested for felony drug possession in Taghkanic

Taghkanic, New York – On April 8, 20021, the New York State Police arrested Kevon T. Jones, age 27, of Albany, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, both class B felonies, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony.
At approximately 2:50 p.m. Troopers initiated a traffic stop of a 2016 Nissan Altima for violations of the vehicle and traffic law on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Taghkanic. Investigation revealed the driver, Kevon Jones, was in possession of approximately 49 grams of crack-cocaine and 10 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms.
Kevon Jones was arraigned before the town of Livingston Court and released on his own recognizance. Jones is next scheduled to appear before the town of Taghkanic Court on April 15, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.
