Allen J. Henrick, 89, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Henrick was a mechanical engineer at the Naval Submarine Base New London and General Dynamics Electric Boat both in Groton. CT.
Born on February 10, 1932 in Yonkers, NY he was the son of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Smith) Henrick. In addition to his parents, Mr. Henrick is predeceased by his first wife, Carol Louden and second wife, Joan Dwyer.
Mr. Henrick proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid bowler, golfer and athlete. Mr. Henrick was also a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.
Mr. Henrick is survived by a step-daughter, Barbara Albrecht and her husband, Albert, of Hopewell Junction, NY and a sister, Patricia Brock of Lanesboro, MA. He is also survived by a nephew, Scott Brock; two nieces, Linda Oronte and Aimee White; 5 great nephews and nieces and two step-grandchildren, Craig and Jennifer Albrecht.
Graveside services with military honors and burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Veterans Section of Valley View Cemetery, S. Nellie Hill Road, Dover Plains, NY.
