Obituary, Edward J. Gerrity

Edward J. Gerrity, 64, passed away Sunday, February 21. 2021 at Regional Hospice, Danbury, CT surrounded by his loving family.

A resident of Putnam Lake, NY, he was born February 8, 1957 in Mt. Kisco, NY to Martin A. Gerrity, Sr. and Audrey Pilch Gerrity.

 

Ed retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers in Briarcliff Manor, NY.

 

He loved deep sea fishing and was a member of the Brewster Elks and the VFW Post in Putnam Lake, NY.

 

He is survived by his loving son Eddie Gerrity and Migz, and his grandson, Jude James, of the Bronx; his loving brother Martin A. Gerrity of Lake George, NY; his loving sister Marlee Russell and her husband, Bob, of Pawling, NY; his loving aunt and uncle, Marie and Jack of New Fairfield, CT; many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews; and his best friends, Cathy and Dan Crapa.

 

He is predeceased by his mother and father and a sister and brother.

 

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, February 26th from 3-6 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY; masks are  required and “social distancing” observed.  The Brewster Elks will conduct a service at the funeral home at 4:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling; masks are required and “social distancing” observed.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Ed may be made to Regional Hospice, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810, or a charity of your choice.
