Man arrested for rape in Columbia County, Investigators looking for additional victims

Greenport, New York – On February 19, 2021, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Keener A. Mendez, age 18, of Coxsackie, NY, for Rape in the 1st degree, a class B felony  and Stalking in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor.

A seven month investigation by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in conjunction with the Columbia County Child Advocacy Center, determined Mendez sexually assaulted a child.

Mendez was arraigned before the town of Stockport Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.  Mendez has been ordered to appear before the Stockport town court on March 1st at 6:00 p.m.
