Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. Reports the Arrest of

a Southeast Man for DWI

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, at approximately 10:35 p.m., while on routine patrol, Deputy Matthew Shelters discovered a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on Rt. 6 in the Town of Southeast, blocking the south bound lane of traffic. Upon further investigation, Deputy Shelters determined that the driver, Perfecto Lopez-Garcia, age 39, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Deputy Shelters approached Mr. Lopez-Garcia and based on his observations suspected that Mr. Lopez-Garcia was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Lopez Garcia had a blood alcohol content of .11%. Mr. Lopez-Garcia was arrested and charged with 2 misdemeanor counts of Driving While Intoxicated, and two traffic violations. Mr. Lopez-Garcia was processed and released. He is due back in the Town of Southeast Court on January 26, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.
