Wappingers Falls – Sharon Marie Daley 56 of Wappingers Falls, died April 19, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital with her family at her side. She was born September 19, 1958 at St. Francis Hospital Poughkeepsie. She was the daughter of Thomas G. and Janice M. Bub Daley.
Sharon graduated from BOCES Special Education. She participated in Special Olympics’ many sports programs winning numerous gold and silver medals. She participated in the International Cross Country Ski Special Olympics at Stowe, Vt. in 1981, also was chosen alternate for 2013 International Cross Country Ski Special Olympics in South Korea 2013. She was the first Special Olympic Athlete to be honored at the Elks Night of Champions. She attended the Jean Kennedy Smith Summer Camp in Pawling. She was a very strong swimmer participating in many State Special Olympics.
She had various jobs outside of the ARC workshop participating in Community Projects as Meals on Wheels and Knit & Knosh which she thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the ladies.
She is survived by her mother, Janice M. Daley, brothers Thomas (Colleen), Timothy (Gina), Brian, Kevin (Roberta Petrone), niece, Tatyana Daley, nephews Daniel, Alexander and Samuel Daley, Aunts & Uncles, Catherine & Joseph DeGeorge, James & Fay Daley, Gertrude Trani. Many counsins.
She is predeceased by her father, Thomas G. Daley, Brother Richard A. Daley, Uncle Frederick Trani, Grandparents, Alfred F. & Caroline Bub, Thomas E. and Catherine Daley.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Poughkeepsie,
