Hopewell man arrested after spying on protected victim

East Fishkill, New York – On January 4, 2021, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Brett M. Marinaccio, age 33, of Hopewell Junction, NY, for Eavesdropping, Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, both class E felonies, and Stalking in the 4th degree, a class B misdemeanor.

Investigation determined Marinaccio utilized hidden GPS tracking devices with audio capabilities to eavesdrop on the victim while an order of protection was in place issued by the Dutchess County Family Court to protect the victim.

Marinaccio was arraigned before the town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.  Marinaccio is scheduled to reappear before the court on February 3, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.
