Dorothy Tierney, long-time resident of Bronx, NY passed away at the home of her daughter on December 19, 2020 five days short of her 94th birthday.
Born in New York City on December 24, 1926, she was the daughter of William and Catherine Kelly (Reindl) Duggan. In New York City in 1950, she married Raymond Tierney, who predeceased her in 1989.
Before she retired, she was s secretary at Loral Electronics in Yonkers.
Dorothy volunteered at many organizations and was always “the life of the party”. She was loved by everyone around her.
She is survived by her son Jerry Tierney and his wife, SueAnn, of Mahopac, NY and daughter Cathy Crapa and her husband, Daniel, of New Fairfield, CT; her four grandchildren, Eddie, Kelly, Corey, and Christopher; 5 great-grandchildren; Her brother, George of California; and her brother-in-law Joseph Tierney and sister-in-law, Margaret Davis.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two sons, Raymond and James.
Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, December 21, 2020 from 2-5 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY; masks are required and “social distancing” observed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling, NY
