State Police responding to a suspicious letter in Chatham

Chatham, New York – On October 21, 2020 the New York State Police and the Village of Chatham Police Department began investigating a suspicious substance mailed to the Village of Chatham Court.

The building has been isolated, and no persons have reported ill effects as a result.  County and State Hazardous Materials teams are responding.  This incident remains under investigation.

Update: Hazardous Material technicians have determined the substance found is nonhazardous.
