Obituary, Vincenza DiPalermo

Vincenza DiPalermo, 89. passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, CT.

A resident of Pawling, NY she was born in Corleone, Sicily on January 9, 1931 to Giuseppe and MariaRosa (DiPalermo) Paternostro.  On October 21, 1957 she married Leoluca DiPalermo in Corleone, Sicily; he predeceases her.

Vincenza loved to cook for her family and loved making Christmas cookies, especially Sicilian cookie natale.

She was a member of St. John’s Church and the Catholic Daughters, and the Pawling Friendship Center.

She is survived by her son John and his wife, Grace, of Mamaroneck, NY, her daughter Celeste DeRosa and her husband Anthony of Carmel, and her son Mario of LaGrangeville; five grandchildren, Zachary DiPalermo, Anthony & Steven DeRosa, and Jassim & Gabriella DiPalermo; her brother Calogero Paternostro of Corleone, Sicily; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Leoluca, Vincenza is also predeceased by her son, Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 9:30 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.  Burial will be in St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vincenza may be made to the Pawling Resource Center, P.O. Box 331, Pawling, NY 12564.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
