Two Pawling residents hospitalized after crash in Sanford Sunday afternoon

PRESS RELEASE

On Sunday September 27, 2020 at approximately 1:45 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit were dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a one-car personal injury crash in the town of Sanford.  Two people were hospitalized.

Troopers responded to State Route 17 near exit 84 in the town of Sanford and found that a Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound when for an unknown reason went off the roadway, struck a delineator, an embankment then rolled.  Troopers rendered aid to the passengers until Deposit Fire Department took over care.

Passenger, Joselyn J. Castaneda-Guzman, age 20 of Pawling, NY was transported by LifeNet to Wilson Medical Center where she is in stable condition.  The driver, Wulder J. Castaneda, age 65 of Pawling, NY was transported by ambulance to Wilson Medical Center.  A second passenger Mercedes Guzman, age 55 of Pawling, NY was not injured.

The investigation into this crash is on-going.
