Philmont,  New York – On September 4, 2020, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested John E. Suchomel, age 55, of Monroe, NY, for Sexual Abuse in the 1st degree,  a class D felony.

Subsequent to a law enforcement tip investigation determined John Suchomel sexually abused a child under the age of thirteen in the village of Philmont.

Suchomel was arraigned before the village of Philmont Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,000.00 cash bail or $10,000 bond.  He is next scheduled to appear before the court on September 9, 2020, at 12:00 p.m.
