Pawling Rotary Brings Community Partnerships Together for Family Movie Night at Lakeside Park

Family Movie Night at Lakeside Park on August 26th, proved to be a successful event, as 150 people attended while  adhering to the social distancing protocols put in place in order to secure the health and safety of everyone.  Masks  were also worn when folks stepped out of their designated family circles. Everyone seemed to revel in the fun of watching the comedy classic, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, while enjoying free ice cream and cotton candy, along with goody bags provided by the Pawling Rotary Club.. Rotary also organized the sponsor line up with the PCSD’s ,PTA, PAA and PCT and worked closely with Pawling Recreation in order to bring this event to fruition.  Village Pizza was in attendance selling pizza slices, rice balls, and soft drinks.  Parent’s were happy to be able to attend a free, local, fun outdoor activity with their children.  In this time of Covid, it was a great opportunity for some light-hearted, safe entertainment that so many families in the community could enjoy together.
Rotarians who volunteered at the event. included Lori Johnson, Rotary president, Dick Harshbarger, John Ammaturo, and newest member, PCSD Superintendent Kim Fontana, wearing both a rotary hat and a school hat. All were on hand throughout the evening to offer assistance.  Thank you  to all the teachers, administrators, and PTA members who volunteered in order to make this family fun night successful..   Much appreciation goes out to Jessica Dickinson of Pawling Recreation and her staff along with Wendel Weber and his staff at the Building and Grounds Department.
