Carmel man uses child to help him steal from Home Depot

Cortlandt, New York – On August 25, 2020, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Charles C. Cerbone, age 42, of Carmel, NY, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Petit Larceny, both class A misdemeanors.

On August 25, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Troopers were dispatched to Home Depot on East Main Street in Cortlandt for a report of larceny.  Investigation determined Charles Cerbone utilized a child to push a shopping cart containing approximately $768.95 worth of stolen tools from the store.

Cerbone was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Cortlandt Court on September 7, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
