CHILD RAPIST CONVICTED

CARMEL, NEW YORK – August 25, 2020 Putnam County District Attorney Robert V. Tendy
announced today that Khori Salmon was sentenced on August 17, 2020, by the Honorable Judge
James Rooney, to a total of 18 years in state prison, 20 years post release supervision, and
registration as a sex offender.
On March 11, 2020, Salmon was convicted after trial of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a
Child in the First Degree, and two counts of Rape in the First Degree.
Salmon’s course of sexual conduct against his child victim began when he resided in the Bronx.
Salmon moved to Putnam County in 2017, and his abuse continued, cumulating in the rape of
his victim on two occasions in his residence in 2018.
District Attorney Tendy would like to thank the New York City Police Department, and the
Bronx District Attorney’s Office for their assistance during this joint investigation. District
Attorney Tendy would also like to thank Carmel Police Department, whose detectives
investigated and arrested Salmon on the aforementioned charges, specifically Detective Frank
Chibbaro, Detective Michael Sheil, and Detective Sgt. Michael Nagle. “This conviction was the
product of fantastic collaboration between numerous law enforcement agencies and my office,”
Tendy said.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Melissa Lynch and Nicholas LaStella.
