Lagrange, New York – On August 19, 2020, the New York State Police arrested Andre-Pierre J. Cadrette, age 23, of Rome, NY, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, both class D felonies, and Reckless Driving, an unclassified misdemeanor.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., Troopers blocking a lane for New York State Department of Transportation on the Taconic State Parkway in a clearly marked work zone attempted to stop a pickup truck violating several vehicle and traffic laws.  The operator of the pickup truck failed to comply and was pursued by Troopers.  The operator struck a guide rail and then exited the Parkway onto State Route 82.  He fled to the Kimberly Korners Shopping Center nearly striking several pedestrians prior to crashing into an unattended parked vehicle.  The operator later identified as Andre-Pierre Cadrette attempted to flee on foot, but was taken into custody by Troopers without further incident.

Investigation determined the 2010 GMC Sierra was reported stolen from Poughkeepsie earlier in the morning and the operator was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Wappinger prior to contact with the State Police.

Cadrette was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Lagrange Court on September 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., and then transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for evaluation.
