Carmel, NY – New York State Sen. Pete Harckham delivered a proclamation on July 30 to Town of Carmel Police Department Chief Michael Cazzari on the occasion of his retirement. Cazarri, who spent his entire 35 year-long career in law enforcement, grew up in the Lake Carmel area and graduated from Carmel High School. He joined the Town of Carmel Police Department in 1986 and served as sergeant, D.A.R.E. officer, lieutenant and interim chief before being selected as chief of the department five years ago. “Because of his leadership and commitment to public service, Chief Cazzari has had a lasting and positive impact on the Carmel community,” Harckham said.
