Poughkeepsie man arrested for felony drug possession in Lagrange

Lagrange, New York – On July 25, 2020, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Steven J. Baum, age 48, of Poughkeepsie, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, both class B felonies, and Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On July 25, 2020, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Troopers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop of a 2020 Acura RL for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on State Route 55 in the town of Lagrange.  Investigation revealed Steven Baum was under the influence of alcohol and in possession of over 74 grams of crack-cocaine.

Baum was arraigned before the town of Lagrange Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  Baum is next scheduled to appear before the Court on July 30, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
