The Pawling Library Re-Opens Its Doors

The Pawling Library Re-Opens Its Doors

Today, July 14th, the Pawling Library is officially re-opening after being closed to the public for four months. Everyone is looking forward to seeing you all again!

The Library has established six safety guidelines to protect everyone’s well-being. These guidelines should make it easier for everyone to share the space while maintaining social distancing.

With the myLibro app, the staff are continuing to take appointments for contactless checkout through a window in the library courtyard. Now that they are open, you can also use myLibro to schedule a time to come visit the library.

Have questions? Need help? Please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can email concerns to  staff@pawlinglibrary.org or call (845) 855-3444.

You can also learn more about the re-opening protocols by visiting https://www.pawlingfreelibrary.org/re-opening-information/

Picture Book Project

While the library was closed to the public, the staff was hard at work. One of the projects worked on is re-organizing all our picture books so that they are grouped together by topic.

Until this project is finished, patrons cannot access the picture book area. Carts full of picture books have been placed in two strategic locations: one is blocking off the picture book area to prevent people from entering, and the other is placed in the rear of the library where the board books have been moved temporarily.

If you are interested in checking out picture books, the library staff asks that you place requests in advance. If you want to come in and browse, you will only have access to the items that are available on the two carts.

Soon the whole project will be completed and the picture books will be sorted and color coded by category. The staff is looking forward to having a picture book collection that makes it easier to find books based on their topics. If you would like to learn more about this, just contact the library. A staff member will be happy to answer any questions.
