Kinderhook, New York – On May 31, 2020, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Christopher F. Sidoti, age 40, of Kinderhook, for two counts of Assault in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, both class A misdemeanors, Menacing in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct, a violation.

At approximately 11:10 a.m., Christopher Sidoti approached Troopers conducting a vehicle and traffic stop on Route 9H in the town of Kinderhook.  Sidoti proceeded to direct obscene language and gestures at the Troopers.  Sidoti was warned multiple times, and then ordered to leave.  Sidoti left only to return, and continue his obscene behavior in front of members of the public.

Sidoti was told he was under arrest for disorderly conduct.  He refused to comply or provide identification before attempting to run away.  Troopers caught Sidoti who then physically assaulted the Troopers.  After a brief struggle Sidoti was taken into custody.  Oleoresin Capsicum spray was utilized, and one Trooper received minor injuries during the struggle.

Sidoti was arraigned virtually before the town of Kinderhook Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond.  Sidoti is next scheduled to appear before the Court on June 15, 2020, at 6:00 p.m.
