Philmont man arrested for robbing “Lyft” driver

Philmont, New York – On May 21, 2020, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Deven B. Hotaling, age 20, of Philmont, for Robbery in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

On February 27, 2020, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Troopers responded to Main Street for a report of a robbery.  Investigation determined Deven Hotaling forcibly robbed a “Lyft” driver, And stole $1,700 in U.S. currency.

Hotaling was located on March 3, 2020, and transported to SP Livingston for processing, but complained of immediate health issues.  He was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital for evaluation.  Hotaling then left the State immediately after his discharge from the Hospital.

He was later located walking on Main Street on May 21, 2020, and subsequently arrested.

Hotaling was arraigned before the town of Livingston Justice, and released upon his own recognizance.  Hotaling is next scheduled to appear before the village of Philmont Court on June 25, 2020, at 6:00 p.m.
