On Friday, February 28th, ballerina Rachel Hamdan visited the Pawling Library for a special “Meet A Ballerina” Story Hour. During the program, Rachel showed children her special shoes, tutus, makeup, and costumes. The attendees (19 Children and 13 adults!) especially loved learning some basic dance moves, and having a moment to shine and show off their best moves in front of an audience of parents and caregivers. Rachel, who also teaches classes at Happy Feet Dance Studio in Carmel, showed young patrons that even ballerinas love books–reading the ever popular Elephants Cannot Dance! by Mo Willems. This program was made possible by an Early Literacy Grant from the Mid-Hudson Library System and Happy Feet Dance Studio. Thanks for visiting Pawling, Rachel!
