Vancouver Man Fatally Shot at Clackamas County Shooting Pit

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. – A 21-year-old man from Vancouver has died after being shot at a shooting pit in Clackamas County on Sunday evening, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Sunday in a remote area near Six Tie Road and FS-4510, south of Estacada.

The victim, identified as Szachary Tyler White, had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Authorities reported that another individual attempted to drive him out of the remote area to seek medical help.

Deputies intercepted the vehicle carrying White along South Hillock Road, where they immediately began lifesaving measures. Paramedics soon arrived to take over, but White succumbed to his injuries before he could be flown by medical helicopter to a hospital.
