DC Teen Arrested in Fatal Clinton Shooting of 17-Year-Old

CLINTON, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) has arrested and charged a teenager from Washington, D.C., in connection with the fatal July shooting of 17-year-old Camron Anthony Adams in Clinton.

Shooting on Killarney Street

On July 20, 2025, around 11:20 a.m., officers responded to the 6900 block of Killarney Street after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Adams inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also discovered a second victim, an adult male, who had been shot during the same incident. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Suspect Identified and Arrested

Detectives with the PGPD’s Homicide Unit launched an investigation and, using various investigative techniques, identified a 17-year-old male suspect from Washington, D.C. Authorities confirmed that the suspect personally knew the victim.

On August 5, 2025, the department’s Fugitive Unit located and arrested the teen for possession of a handgun. Further evidence tied him to the Clinton homicide.

Because of the severity of the charges, the suspect has been charged as an adult.

Charges Filed

The teen now faces second-degree murder and related charges in the killing of Adams. He remains in custody at the Department of Corrections under no-bond status as he awaits trial.

Community Impact

The shooting has rattled Clinton residents, particularly because both the victim and suspect were only 17 years old. Local leaders and community members have expressed concern about the ongoing toll of youth gun violence in the region.

While police have not released further details on what led to the shooting, they confirmed that the suspect and Adams had a prior connection. Investigators are continuing to review evidence to determine the motive.
