Citizen’s Preparedness Training Coming
to Town of Union Vale

Poughkeepsie, NY…The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, in partnership with the Town of Union Vale, will host a free Citizen’s Preparedness Training on Tuesday, November 19 at the Union Vale Town Hall, located at 249 Duncan Road, Lagrangeville, to provide participants with the tools and resources to better prepare for any type of disaster. The event is open to the public. Registration opens at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m. View the event flyer.

County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “Whether it’s a severe storm or an emergency in your home, our Citizen’s Preparedness Trainings give you the tools and resources necessary to keep yourself and your family safe until help arrives.”

Participants will learn how to respond accordingly in a disaster and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family will receive a free Citizen’s Preparedness Response Starter Kit. Dutchess County’s Medical Reserve Corps and the Dutchess County Animal Response Team will be present with more information on how to become involved. For information, visit www.dutchessny.gov.
