TROY, NY (11/12/2019)– The Liberty League has announced its year-end award winners from men’s soccer and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Dillon Ashong of Pleasant Valley and Arlington High School is among those to have earned the honor.

A senior back and forward who was named an Honorable Mention, Ashong has started all 19 games for the Engineers this season, scoring one goal for two points. Averaging 80.9 minutes per match, he nine shots (2 on goal) with one game-winning tally and one penalty kick goal.

The No. 12/15 Engineers are currently 14-2-3 overall and are preparing the host the opening two rounds of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament this weekend at East Campus Stadium. RPI opens with Eastern Nazarene on Saturday (1pm).

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is America’s oldest technological research university. For nearly two centuries, the Institute has been a driving force behind breakthroughs in engineering and science in virtually every arena-from transportation and infrastructure to business, medicine, outer space, and cyberspace.

As it approaches its bicentennial anniversary, the Institute continues to define The New Polytechnic, a new paradigm for teaching, learning, and research that uses advanced technologies to enable fresh collaborations across disciplines, sectors, and regions, in order to answer the global challenges of our day.
