County Executive Molinaro to Present
2020 Executive Budget Tomorrow, October 30th
Poughkeepsie… County Executive Marc Molinaro invites residents to join the conversation about the proposed 2020 county budget at a series of Town Hall Forums held at various locations around the county. The town halls will follow the October 30th release of the 2020 Executive Budget and are a great opportunity for residents to learn about key components of the budget, ask questions, and share feedback. County Executive Molinaro will present his 2020 Executive Budget Address tomorrow, Wednesday, October 30th at 10 a.m. in the Legislative Chambers, 22 Market Street in Poughkeepsie. The County Executive’s Budget Address can be viewed live at dutchessny.gov/2020Budget. Budget documents will be available on the County’s website following the address.
The first town hall forum will be tomorrow evening, October 30th, when County Executive Molinaro and Budget Director Jessica White will host a countywide telephone town hall forum, starting at 6:30pm, for residents to participate in a live conversation about the 2020 budget, learn key details, ask questions and share feedback. Residents can call 877-228-2184 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and enter event ID 113489#.
There will also be several in-person Town Hall forum events:
- Roosevelt Fire Station 3, 830 Violet Ave, Hyde Park on Saturday, November 2 at 11 a.m.
- Millerton Library Annex, 28 Century Blvd., Millerton on Wednesday, November 13 at 6 p.m.
- Beekman Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag on Wednesday, November 20 at 6 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to review the budget documents, particularly the Budget in Brief, and come share comments and feedback during the forums.
County Executive Molinaro’s proposed 2020 budget plan includes the largest property tax levy cut in two decades and cuts the property tax rate for homeowners and businesses for the fifth year. The budget maintains county services and programs, with new initiatives added to address addiction and mental health, youth services as well as continued funding for ThinkDIFFERENTLY events and programs, senior services, infrastructure improvements, and shared services.
