East Fishkill, New York – On October 8, 2019, the New York State Police investigated a fatal motor vehicle crash on the Taconic State Parkway and Carpenter Road in the town of East Fishkill.

Initial investigation reveals William T. Faint, age 62, of Yorktown, NY, was traveling east on Carpenter Road, operating a 2006 Ford Taurus.  Mr. Faint attempted to cross the Taconic State Parkway and failed to yield the right of way to two southbound vehicles.  A 2016 GMC Sierra, operated by Alan B. Kinghan, age 60, of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and a 2010 Toyota Matrix, operated by Rachel A. Rosales, age 60, of New York, NY, simultaneously struck the Ford Taurus.

Mr. Faint’s vehicle spun before striking a utility pole and coming to rest.  Lifesaving measures were employed, but unfortunately, Mr. Faint was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Mr. Kinghan and his passenger, Richard W. Smith, did not suffer any injuries.  Ms. Rosales and her passenger, Mary S. Nessinger, sustained both sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and were transported to Vassar Hospital by EmStar.

East Fishkill Fire department, EmStar, and New York State Department of Transportation all responded to the scene.
