A CONNECTICUT MAN WANTED IN PUTNAM COUNTY ON DWI CHARGES

IS ARRESTED FOR FELONY DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Connecticut man for Felony Driving While Intoxicated charges. On September 15, 2019, at approximately 3:23 a.m., Deputy Edward Burke was conducting a stationary patrol in his marked police vehicle, observing the intersection of Route 22 and Milltown Road, in the Town of Southeast. Deputy Burke observed a vehicle, with its headlights not lit, traveling northbound on Route 22, at a very slow rate of speed. The vehicle stopped at a steady green light at the intersection of Milltown Road and then began to roll backwards before going forward again through a steady red light. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Isau Reynaldo Martinez Coronado, age 27, of Norwalk, Connecticut, was intoxicated. Mr. Martinez Coronado was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. During the booking processing Mr. Martinez Coronado provided two false names. After Mr. Martinez Coronado was fingerprinted his true name was learned and it was revealed that he had been previously convicted of DWI in the Town of Mount Kisco Justice Court on 4/23/15. It was also determined that Mr. Coronado Martinez had an active warrant out of NYSP Brewster for an additional DWI charge. Mr. Martinez Coronado was charged with one Felony count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated- Operating a Motor Vehicle while having a blood alcohol content of .18 or more, one Felony count of Driving While Intoxicated-Operating a Motor Vehicle while having a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, 1 Misdemeanor count of Driving While Intoxicated, and one Misdemeanor count each of Criminal Impersonation, Falsifying Business Records, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.
