Salisbury- Clare Gallion Berk Hintenach of Sharon passed away early morning on April 11th at Noble Horizons in Salisbury. She was born in Sharon Hospital on May 27, 1927.

Mrs. Hintenach is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Lt .Col .Ret Albert Hintenach of Sharon, her daughters Sherie Berk of Sharon and State Representative Roberta Berk Willis and her husband William Willis of Lakeville; her step daughter Sandra Frost, stepsons James Hintenach and Al Hintenach. Her four grandchildren Faith Turgeon, Laura Trotta, Rebecca Willis, and Benjamin Willis, as well as her step grandchildren Ryan and Stephanie Hintenach, Christine Meraklis and Pam Benton. Six beautiful great grandchildren; Joseph and Wesley Trotta, Hannah and Andrew Turgeon and Malina and Elana Meraklis.

A graduate of Queens College, New York, her first career was a millinery model in New York City. Later, she taught at Webutuck Central School, in Millerton, New York. She was an avid swimmer and windsurfer on Mudge Pond in Sharon and at Twin Lakes, in Salisbury. She served as Chair of the Sharon Beach Committee for many years. Since the 1950’s she practiced organic gardening and loved to cook for her family and friends. She took great joy and pride in the achievements of her children and grandchildren, and relished the years she spent with her husband traveling the world

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hotchkiss Library in Sharon. A celebration of her life will be at a future date at the convenience of her family.
