The Pawling Community Supports the PRC

The Pawling Resource Center celebrated a successful Walkathon on Saturday, September 14th..   At least seventy-five walkers strolled through the village wearing PRC tee shirts. Walkers who brought their pups to the event received a doggie gift bag that included a red bandanna, a squeaky ball, and treats.  Many board members were in attendance to assist with the event, along with several other volunteers. In all, approximately 90 supporters were in attendance. Although rain threatened to fall, the weather cooperated, and the walk was enjoyed by all. Jeremy Busolt and his crew, once again, put on a delicious spread at the post-walk barbecue, with plenty of side dishes donated by Vinny’s Deli.
The events committee, which worked closely with PRC Director, Terry Ariano, included Ann Godesky, Event Chair, Susan Stone, Susan Smith, Dorlaine McLaughlin Judy, and Hal Clark..   Volunteers  Kent Burnham from Trinity-Pawling, Jason Vail and Vinny Basirico  assisted with tent raising, site decorating, and chair and table set up and removal.
The annual walkathon is a major fundraiser for the Resource Center.  It is estimated that through corporate sponsors and walkers and teams of walkers who found sponsors to support their efforts, the PRC raised over $24,000 in support of the many programs that assist those in need within the community.
The PRC is always in need of volunteers, especially drivers for their transportation services. Those who are interested in participating should contact the PRC at 845-855-3459.
