Two Cortlandt men arrested for blowing up mailboxes

Cortlandt, New York – On September 13, 2019, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Christopher M. Servedio, age 19, and Kyle R. Louch, age 20, both of Cortlandt, for Criminal Mischief in the 1st degree, a class B felony, and Arson in the 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor.  Servedio was also arrested for additional counts of both Criminal Mischief 1st and Arson 5th.

On August 26, 2019, Troopers responded to two residences shortly after 10:00 p.m. in the Cortlandt Manor area of the town of Cortlandt for reports of mailboxes blown-up, and a third destroyed mailbox was reported in the Montrose area of Cortlandt on September 2, 2019.  An investigation found Louch and Servedio used mortar type fireworks to blow-up the mailboxes.  Servedio was also arrested for the destruction of a mailbox using explosives in Montrose.

Servedio and Louch were arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and released on their own recognizance by the Honorable Judge Ragazzo.  Both subjects are scheduled to reappear before the Court on September 19, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.
