MOTHER AND DAUGHTER ARRESTED

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrests of a mother and daughter on charges related to Driving While Intoxicated and Drug Possession. On September 5, 2019, at approximately 5:59 pm, Deputy Matthew Shelters observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway in the area of 1010 State Route 22 in the Town of Southeast. Deputy Shelters approached the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Erica Turen, age 45, of Patterson, was allegedly intoxicated. It was also determined that the vehicle contained Concentrated Cannabis and that the Cannabis allegedly belonged to Ms. Turen’s daughter, Amber Holic, age 19, who had arrived on the scene. Both Ms. Turen and Ms. Holic were placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Ms. Turner was processed and charged with Driving While Intoxicated- Operating a Motor Vehicle while having a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 or more (Misdemeanor), and Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor). Ms. Holic was processed and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Both defendants were released on their own recognizance and issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court.
