DCSPCA Pet of the Week, Let’s Make Home Happen for Bailey!

DCSPCA Pet of the Week

Let’s Make Home Happen for Bailey!

Hi! My name is Bailey and I am 2 years old. I was found in someone’s garden, enjoying the beautiful roses and petunias, but I am really an indoor cat. I was outside because I was a stray, but I didn’t want to be one! I am playful, but I would also enjoy sitting on your windowsill, watching the birds or snoozing on your bed.

I have a condition called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). That’s an autoimmune disorder that doesn’t require medication, and I feel just fine! But I will have it for the rest of my life, and I just have to be careful not to get any chronic infections. In other words, if I get regular check-ups at the vet, I can live as long and healthy a life as your average cat! I like other cats and can live with non-FIV cats as long as we get along and don’t bite each other.

I hope you’ll visit the Dutchess County SPCA at 636 Violet Avenue in Hyde Park and learn more about me and my other FIV+ friends. Adoption hours are 12 pm to 5 pm, Tuesday through Sunday with extended hours on Thursday until 7 pm.
