State Police investigating serious motor vehicle crash in Copake

**Update 8/22/19:

Copake, New York – On August 21, 2019, the New York State Police investigated a fatal motor vehicle crash at approximately 6:40 p.m., on County Route 7A near Twin Bridges Road in the town of Copake, Columbia County.

Preliminary investigation reveals Christina I. Gubler, age 28, of Craryville, NY, operating a 2005 Honda Civic southbound on County Route 7A, with passenger Caleb P. Dier, age 7, also of Craryville, lost control in wet conditions and entered the northbound lane.  Gubler’s vehicle struck a northbound 2014 Toyota Avalon operated by Michael T. Super, age 71, of Hudson, NY, with Mary B. Super, age 71, as a passenger.

Michael Super, Mary Super, and Christina Gubler were transported to Albany Medical Center with serious but believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Caleb Dier, was transported by Greenport Rescue to Columbia Memorial Hospital, where he, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Also responding to the scene was Copake Fire Department, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Copake Rescue, the Columbia County EMS Coordinator, and Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Copake, New York – August 21, 2019, the New York State Police are investigating a two-car motor vehicle crash with serious injuries on County Route 7A near Twin Bridges Road in the town of Copake. The roadway will be closed for an extended period of time, please avoid the area.
