Pawling High School Grad is Rotary Speaker

Katie Meyer, a rising senior at the University of Buffalo, was the speaker this past Tuesday at Pawling Rotary’s weekly lunch meeting. Katie is the president of the  Rotaract club at the university, which brings together people ages 18-30 to exchange ideas with leaders in the community and develop leadership and professional skills. Rotoract is part of the Rotary International family and originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 at Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The organization has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 10,904 clubs spread around the world and 250,792 members in 184 countries.
While attending Pawling High School, Katie was the president of the Interact Club.  She also attended RYLA, the Rotary Youth Leadership conference, held annually for high school students, on the Mount Saint Mary’s Campus in Newburgh, New York..  Katie will graduate next May with a degree in electrical engineering and plans to continue her affiliation with Rotary.
