State Police are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash in the town of Goshen

On August 12, 2019 at approximately 12:15 p.m., Troopers responded to the intersection of Pulaski Highway and Pumpkin Swamp Rd in the Town of Goshen for a report of a car/tractor trailer personal injury automobile accident. Investigation revealed that a 2018 Ford Edge being operated by Anthony P. Galimi, age 80 of Crestwood, NY was stopped at a stop sign on Pumpkin Swamp Rd. attempting to make a left hand turn onto Pulaski Highway. with his wife Georgeanna L. Galimi, age 76 in the passenger seat. A 2008 Peterbuilt Motors Tractor Trailer operated by Randolph L. Baim, age 47 of Youngsville, NY was traveling Northbound on Pulaski Highway. As the tractor trailer approached the intersection of Pumpkin Swamp Rd., The Ford Edge entered the intersection and attempted to go South on Pulaski Highway and was struck by the tractor trailer which subsequently overturned. Anthony Galimi was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by the emergency room doctor. Georgeanna Galimi was air lifted to Westchester Medical Center where she is currently listed in critical condition.  Randolph Baim advised that he was not injured as a result of the accident.

The State Police were assisted by The Village of Florida PD, Town of Goshen PD, Village of Florida Fire Dept., Town of Goshen Ambulance and Mobile Life.
