Public invited to Dutchess County
Complete Count Committee Meeting Tuesday, Aug. 13

Poughkeepsie … The Dutchess County Complete Count Committee, which is raising awareness about the 2020 census, will meet on Tuesday, August 13. The meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Dutchess County Mental Health Center, 230 North Road, Poughkeepsie.

A U.S. Census Bureau representative will be at the meeting, and the public is invited to attend.

Committee members represent various organizations from throughout Dutchess County and have a broad range of experience in community outreach. The committee is working with other civic-minded organizations and local governments to ensure people understand the census process and participate in the census to ensure Dutchess County is accurately represented in the count.

The federal government undertakes the census count every 10 years as required by the Constitution. Census results will determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds are distributed annually. They also provide the framework for how congressional and state and legislative districts are redrawn.
