During my 22 in 22 tour in Pawling, we visited the Pawling Resource Center. Aside from learning about the number of families that use the food pantry, we learned the great demand for senior transportation in Pawling. With all the construction of the new senior housing in Pawling out on Route 22, many seniors are finding themselves stranded with no way to get to the doctor or to the shopping centers. A lot of time at the resource center is spent trying to find volunteers to transport seniors around Pawling. Pawling has lost nearly $432,000 from Molinaro‘s changes to the sales tax formula. Seniors in Dutchess County need a countywide dial-a-ride service provides access town by town.
