State Police Arrest Hartsdale Man on Multiple Charges

PRESS RELEASE
On July 15, 2019, the New York State Police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit and The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (SP Hawthorne) arrested sixty-five-year-old John F. Mahoney of  Hartsdale, NY for Computer Tampering 3rd degree, a class E felony; Computer Trespass 3rd degree, a class E felony; and Aggravated Harassment 2nddegree, a class A misdemeanor. The arrest is the result of an eleven-month investigation.

Mahoney is accused of hacking into the victim’s online account and posting an inappropriate photo without the victim’s permission.

Mahoney was arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $2,500 cash bail/$5000 bond.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crime Unit assisted in the case.

Mahoney is scheduled to return to court on July 16, 2019, at 9 a.m.
