Cortlandt, New York – On July 11, 2019, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, arrested Patrick Williams, age 31, of Brooklyn, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree, a class A-II felony, Unlawfully Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree,  a class A misdemeanor, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor,  and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.  Williams was also charged in White Plains Federal Court by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York with two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to Distribute.

On Thursday, July 11, 2019, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the State Police Barracks from the Cortlandt barracks conducted traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on State Route 9 in the town of Cortlandt.  The vehicle initially stopped before unlawfully fleeing the Troopers, and initiating a pursuit.  The suspect vehicle traveled through Cortlandt into the city of Peekskill, and then back into the town of Cortlandt.

Troopers were eventually able to box the vehicle in, and take the suspect into custody.  At that time, Troopers recognized that the suspect, later identified as Patrick Williams, was suffering from signs of a potential overdose.  They immediately administered two doses of Narcan, and called for emergency medical services.  The defendant was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital Center, treated, and released.

Further investigation found Williams was in possession of two loaded firearms, one of which was reported stolen.  Additionally, Williams possessed approximately 7.8 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy), 4.4 grams of marijuana, and wanted for a parole violation.

Williams was arraigned before the U.S. Federal District Court in White Plains, and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail.  Williams is next scheduled to appear before the Federal District Court on August 7, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.
