MULTIPLE RECENT DWI ARRESTS

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports recent DWI arrests recorded by Deputy Sheriffs. On June 14, 2019, at approximately 4:32 p.m., Deputy Anthony Tolve was dispatched by Putnam County 911for a report of an erratic driver traveling northbound on State Route 9D, in the Town of Philipstown. A description of the vehicle was also dispatched. Deputy Tolve and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit (ESU) canvassed the area, looking for the vehicle. Deputy Tolve located the vehicle and a subsequent investigation by him and the ESU revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Chatanie Williams, age 32, of Highland Falls, was allegedly intoxicated. Ms. Williams was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor) and Driving While Intoxicated – Operating a Motor Vehicle While Having a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) in excess of .08. (Misdemeanor) Ms. Williams was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Philipstown Justice Court and was released on her own recognizance, pending a future court date in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court.

On June 22, 2019, at approximately 2:03 a.m., while assigned to the ESU, Deputy Brian Neary and Deputy Francis McDonough responded to the area of 669 Peekskill Hollow Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley, for a report of a single car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the deputies observed a vehicle rolled over on its side, facing northbound on Peekskill Hollow Road. The female driver was observed inside the vehicle and needing assistance to be removed from the vehicle. The Deputies removed the vehicle’s sunroof and assisted the female operator, identified as Tammy Hayes, age 47, of Putnam Valley, out of the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that Ms. Hayes was allegedly intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor). Ms. Hayes is scheduled to appear at a future court date, in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.

On June 23, 2019, at approximately 2:43 a.m., Deputy Francis McDonough and Sergeant Edward Kennedy were dispatched by Putnam County 911 to the area of 340 Dennytown Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley, for a report of a one-car property damage auto accident. Upon arrival, Sergeant Kennedy and Deputy McDonough observed a vehicle on its side, located up a dirt embankment. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Stephen Famularo, age 21, of Putnam Valley, was allegedly intoxicated. Mr. Famularo was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor) and Driving While Intoxicated- Operating a Motor Vehicle While Having a BAC in excess of .08 (Misdemeanor). He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court and released on his own recognizance, pending a future court date in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.
