Millbrook – Marvin “Mike” Chadwell, 93 of Millbrook, passed away at his residence on Thursday, April 9, 2015. Born in Warrenton,Va. on May 18, 1921, he was the son of the late Elias and Nellie Sinclair Chadwell. Marvin served his country with distinction as a Sargent in the US Army during WW-II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. On April 25, 1943 in Virginia, Marvin married Margaret Morey. Mrs. Chadwell predeceased him on December 23, 2012. Mr. Chadwell began his career as a herdsman for Rally Farms in Millbrook and later was employed as a landscaper at Cary Arboretum until he retired. Marvin enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, story-telling and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved to spend time with his family.

Marvin is survived by his three daughters; Kathy Myers and her husband Bob of Millbrook, Deborah Temme and her husband Bill of Marblehead, Ma. and Ann Spaeth and her husband Don of Verbank; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Harvey; 2 grandchildren, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15 from 5-8 pm at 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, April 16 at 10 am from St. Joseph’s Church, North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will follow in Washington Hollow Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Marvin’s memory to the Millbrook Rescue Squad, PO Box 609, Millbrook, NY 12545.
