PATTERSON MAN ARRESTED FOR MENACING AFTER
IMITATION REVOLVER WAS DISPLAYED
Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Patterson Man, after he allegedly displayed an imitation revolver during a dispute. On June 15, 2019, at approximately 9:57 p.m., Deputy William Rossiter was dispatched by Putnam 911 to respond to a report of a dispute where a handgun was displayed, at the Fox Run Condominium Complex, in the Town of Patterson. When Deputy Rossiter arrived he observed a group of people including two alleged victims. The Deputy was informed that the suspect was inside an apartment at the location. New York State Trooper Maricevic arrived on the scene to assist. He and Deputy Rossiter approached the apartment and the subject, 57-year-old James Waring, opened the door. Mr. Waring, who resided at the location, was ordered to the ground and Deputy Rossiter and Trooper Maricevic were able to secure him. A subsequent investigation revealed that during a dispute, Mr. Waring, allegedly displayed an imitation revolver. Deputy Michael Sutherland, Deputy Michael Neuner, Sergeant John Cihanek, along with another trooper also responded to the location to assist in the investigation. The imitation revolver was subsequently recovered. Mr. Waring was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. He was processed and charged with two counts of Menacing in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Mr. Waring was arraigned by the Honorable Justice Michael Caruso of the Town of Patterson Justice Court. Justice Caruso released Mr. Waring on his own recognizance, pending a future court date.
