SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT NARCOTICS ENFORCEMENT UNIT ARREST

TWO WITH OVER 200 OXYCODONE PILLS

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of Robert Randoulph Jessamy, 38 of Pittsfield Massachusetts and Coral January Velasquez, 39 of the Bronx for felony possession of controlled substance charges following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway.

On June 7, 2019, members of the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle, on the northbound ramp to the Taconic State Parkway at Bryant Pond Road in Putnam Valley, for multiple traffic violations. During the traffic stop, Deputies detected the odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s operator, Robert Jessamy, and his female passenger, Coral January Velasquez, possessed more than 200 alleged oxycodone hydrochloride pills having an approximate street value of six thousand dollars ($6000). Additionally, Ms. Velasquez possessed quantities of alleged MDMA and marijuana.

.The vehicle Mr. Jessamy was driving was outfitted with an electronically activated hidden compartment commonly used in the transportation of narcotics, weapons, and currency.

Both occupants were charged with 2 felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (possession with the intent to sell) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (possession of a narcotic drug having an aggregate weight exceeding one half ounce). Ms. Velasquez was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree (Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (Violation).

The two are currently being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
