Obituary, Agnes Wasilik

Agnes Wasilik, 94, a resident of Pawling for 7 years and a former resident of Crossville, TN, died peacefully Monday, June 10, 2019, at the Paramount Rehabilitation & Nursing Care in Somers, NY.

Born in Manhattan on September 23, 1924, she was the daughter of Anthony and Catherine (Salik) Pocengal.  On May 21, 1944, at Christ the King Church in Yonkers, Agnes married Joseph Wasilik, who predeceased her on August 5, 2015.

Agnes was a parishioner of St. John’s Church in Pawling.  She loved restoring old furniture and sewing, having made drapes and bedspreads, and was an avid embroiderer.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Diane Keever of Pawling; her grandchildren, Melissa Caldwell and husband, Kenneth, of Stamford, CT and Michael Kivel and wife, Debbie, of Brewster; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Lockwood, Dylan & Samantha Kivel, and Ryan Caldwell; her brother Edward Pocengal of Haverstraw, NY; three sisters, Florence Putnam of Fishkill, NY, Eileen Ziegler of Colorado Springs, CO, and Dorothy Moscardelli of Buchanan, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 12th fron 4-8 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
