State Police in Troop K remove twenty-three impaired drivers from public roadways over the June 8, 2019, weekend

On June 7, 2019, State Police from SP Rhinebeck arrested Jason M. McGrinder, age 35, of Red Hook, NY, for DWI with two prior convictions, a class D felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree, a class E felony, Use of a Vehicle without an Interlock Device, and Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 4th degree, both class A misdemeanors. He was traveling on State Route 308 in the town of Rhinebeck, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 7, 2019, State Police from SP Hawthorne arrested Michael W. DeCosta Jr., age 29, of East Fishkill, NY, for DWAI Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, both class A misdemeanors. He was traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the city of Yonkers, when he was found asleep on the shoulder of the road. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of drugs and in possession of heroin.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Wappinger arrested Christian S. Vesperman, age 26, of East Fishkill, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 52 in the city of Beacon, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Wappinger arrested Richard A. Pemberton, age 30, of East Freetown, MA, for DWI. He was traveling on Old Hopewell Road in the town of Wappinger, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Somers arrested Lilly A. Gallaher, age 22, of Pleasant Valley, NY, for DWI. She was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Bedford, when she was involved in a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed she was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Poughkeepsie arrested Brian S. Niznik, age 40, of Pleasant Valley, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on Vail Road in the town of Lagrange, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Dover Plains arrested James Norum, age 53, of Pawling, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Patterson, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Stormville arrested Anthony Valerio, age 61, of Mahopac, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Yorktown, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Stormville arrested Joseph J. Cich, age 30, of Augusta, GA, for Aggravated DWI with a prior conviction, a class E felony. He was traveling on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of East Fishkill, when he was involved in a personal injury motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Livingston arrested Joshua M. Gregory, age 33, of North Adams, MA, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 20 in the town of New Lebanon, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of drugs and was subsequently arrested.
On June 8, 2019, State Police from SP Poughkeepsie arrested Sherina Defreitas, age 44, of Pleasant Valley, NY, for Aggravated DWI. She was traveling on State Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley, when she was the subject of a welfare check. Investigation revealed she was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
