Theresa J. Simone, 59, passed away at her home in Hopewell Junction, NY on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
One of four children of the late Anthony J. “Tony” Sieredzinski and Eleanor “Ellie” (Wolfing) Sieredzinski, Theresa was born in New Milford, CT on August 13, 1959. She married Anthony Simone at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pawling, NY on June 25, 1983; he survives at home.
Theresa was the secretary to the superintendent of the Beacon City School District and a very active member of the Episcopal Cursillo Ministry, serving two terms as warden in the Episcopal church and as lay rector for Cursillo weekend.
Theresa loved making jewelry, painting rocks, and all types of crafting and sewing. She also loved bird watching, gardening, camping, and cooking. In her youth, she was the leader of the “Kazootie Cooties,” Pawling’s first kazoo band.
In addition to her husband, Theresa is survived by two sons, Anthony Joseph “A.J” Simone and his spouse Alex Colon of Brooklyn, NY, and Gregory Simone of Brookline, MA; daughter Jennifer Puleo and spouse Steve Puleo of New Paltz, NY; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Alyssa Puleo, also of New Paltz; her sister, Karen Sieredzinski of Poughquag, NY; her brother Joseph Sieredzinski and spouse Mary of Jacksonville, FL; and her nephew Jason Kucharski and spouse Chrissy of Orlando, FL.
In addition to her parents, Theresa is predeceased by her sister, Toni Ann Kucharski.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 17 at 10 AM at the Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, NY.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
