CARMEL MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED DWI

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Carmel man for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. On May 1, 2019, at approximately 4:49 p.m., Deputy Christopher Irwin observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on State Route 311, in the Town of Patterson. Deputy Irwin initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Alexander Permijo, age 33, of Carmel, was intoxicated. Mr. Permijo was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Permijo was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated- Having a Blood Alcohol Content of .18 or higher (Misdemeanor), Driving While Intoxicated- Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 or higher (Misdemeanor), and Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor). Mr. Permijo was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Patterson Justice Court and released on his own recognizance, pending his future court date.
